Everyone knows that carpeting is a haven for dust mites. In reality, the amount of dust mites in carpeting, in addition to pet dander, dust, mold, pollen, and feathers, show the immediate need to remove this allergy breeding ground from all homes. Heated floors have brought in a new type of allergy free living. The extreme benefits for allergy sufferers is shocking.

Radiant floor heating does not emit any currents of air and does not use any kind of fans or blowers to incite and agitate these bacteria infested allergens. heating and air conditioning units do not just incite the allergens in your home, but they also house harmful mold, dirt, pet dander and fur, and other allergens. Not only do they trigger an enormous development of all of these allergens, but the moisture in the ducts houses harmful bacteria. In reality, since you have ducts in all rooms of your house, you are essentially multiplying the breeding area for these distasteful allergens and bacteria, spreading them to your entire family.

Everyone knows that dust mites are the leading instigator of allergic respiratory disease. Also, the significant growth of industry and manufacturing, in addition to higher traffic areas cause more people to be suffering from allergies. Doctors concur the first step people who suffer from severe allergies is to eliminate. Everyone knows that no matter how much you vacuum, you can never get rid of all of the dust mites and germs in your carpets. Furthermore, every time you step on your carpet, all of the dirt and allergens are compacted into a number of of ruthless allergy turmoil. Installing radiant heating in your house decreases the need for carpet in your home, consequently giving your family a cleaner, safer place come home to.In recent times a European research project has demonstrated that radiant floor heating lowers the number of dust mites, successfully restricting the attack on your familys allergies, by heating the floor and not the air.

Hydronic heating is a technology that utilizes hot water or steam to transfer heat into a area. This varies from forced air heat in that heat is contained within a tube until it reaches the location to be heated. Because hydronic heat can be delivered to a precise spot, it can be more efficient than forced air heat.

Hydronic heating systems have been around for decades in the form of steam and hot water radiators. These radiators are popular in large buildings and campuses, because they allow many units to be served from one heat source. This method is also used in some cities to provide heat from a central furnace to entire districts.

Old-fashioned radiator systems rely on air convection to move heat into a room. The heat does not actually radiate out into the space. Instead, the difference in temperature makes convection currents, drawing cooler air into the radiator space to be warmed by the device.

Hydronic floor heating systems have become quite popular for new construction. Tubing is placed beneath the floor of a room, either into a poured floor slab made of concrete or a thin concrete mixture placed on top of the floor deck. This fluid can be water or some other substance, such as anti-freeze. Once the system is in place, the room is heated as warm air rises from the floor.

The water may be warmed by a boiler, as in traditional radiator systems, or heat may come from a solar collection system. This makes hydronic floor heating environmentally friendly and reduces utility bills. Because the water will flow naturally as the result of temperature differences, no pumping system is called for, so long as the tubing is right size for the application.

The tubes used to carry the fluid in an hydronic heating system transfer their warmth to the floor slab, which in turn heats the space. A thicker slab will absorb heat more slowly, and radiate it into the room over a longer period of time. For this reason, solar heating systems perform best with a thick slab. A heating system that uses a propane or electric water heater can alter temperature more easily than a solar heating system. In this case, the slab can be much less than the four inches recommended for systems that use solar heat.

Because solar based installations rely on thermosiphon, or movement by convection, to circulate the fluid, they may suffer from blockages caused by air pockets. When the main source of heat will be a solar collector, the system may also have a small pump to remove air from the system as necessary. Systems that use boilers to give heat are not subject to being blocked by air bubbles.

Hydronic heating is an ancient concept that works well with new technology. It is a flexible way to heat structures, and gives environmental and cost saving benefits. With different heat sources to select from, it’s a logical choice for new construction.

Energy saving is in the forefront of the news and a concern of most concerned citizens looking for eco-friendly ways to save energy. The Earth has only a finite amount of nonrenewable energy, thus it is imperative that we save energy in every way available so that our natural resources do not become depleted and are still around for future generations. Even the most basic can save energy in your home.

When building a new home or replacing existing flooring, you should consider using underfloor heating insulation. Make your home a greener, more earth friendly home by installing floor heating insulation to conserve energy.

Installing floor heating insulation beneath your heated floor system prevents the heat from passing below the flooring and, instead, allows the heat to radiate the room by deflecting the heat back into the room. Because heat is attracted to cold, energy wasting heat loss will take place through the sub-floor. Underfloor heating insulation conserves energy by reducing heat loss, acting as a thermal barrier that is very efficient in containing heat inside a room. Underfloor heating insulation increases the effectiveness of your floor heating system by aiding it to warm up faster and by allaying heat loss. This in turn allows the highest benefits of your under floor heating system, a cut back in your heating bills and a comfortable, cozy room to enjoy all through the winter.

Using floor heating insulation stops floor surfaces from loosing heat to the cold surfaces beneath. Installing good underfloor heating insulation beneath your heated floors will deter the transfer of heat from the floor heating elements to the subfloor below. Employing the application of underfloor insulation decreases the time it takes for the floor heating system to warm the floor and room thereby reducing energy and heating costs.

During new construction it is easy to incorporate and install thicker underfloor heating insulation. However, when changing flooring with a floor heating system, you can still install floor heating insulation as it is manufactured in various thicknesses and from a variety of different materials. One material used in the manufacturing of underfloor heating insulation is cork. Cork is an earth friendly, renewable resource that functions very good when used for insulation.

This is not an item to be overlooked when building new or remodeling. Floor heating insulation may look like a expensive addition, but the money and energy you save over time more than pays for the installation and material expenses. The money you save and the benefits to the ecosystem by reducing energy consumption are two essential factors that make installing floor heating insulation a thumbs-up proposition.

Underfloor heating insulation provides greater energy efficiency, prevents heat loss and makes a home more livable in the cold of winter. Not only will your home be warm and cozy, but also your heating costs will be considerably reduced. Floor heating insulation is a great way of participating in a greener lifestyle by providing energy efficiency and energy conservation.

The days of walking into a bathroom or kitchen in bare feet and freezing in the act is over thanks to wire, cable and mat floor heating systems. New homes and refinished homes are implementing floor heating method to cut the chill and make any tile or stone floor pleasingly warm to walk on. The mat floor and the wire or cable system method are both safe and can be built by the homeowner, but the majority of people resort to the professional to get a floor heating system incorporated. A professional job will cost more to incorporate. The tube or cable system does cost more to install, but it can cover more space especially in confined space. The mat type is simple to build, a 35 sq. ft area costs around $525 not including work, but is usually used for bigger spaces. Once incorporated the monthly floor heating cost is the same for both.

There are companies that can assist the do it yourselfer install a radiant floor heating system. They supply all the information in an build out video, as well as a radiant floor build out manual. These companies advertise a all inclusive package that part of mounting hardware, plumbing and electrical plans and thermostats and tubing. The homeowner offers the labor, which is usually a two person task but may require a third person for a few hours. These radiant floor heating packages are guaranteed for 30 years. The only maintenance associated with a radiant floor heating system would be electrical issues or if the wires breaks, which can be repaired easily if the package instruction are followed exactly.

Radiant floor heating cost can vary greatly but the wire or the cable system including all the pertinent equipment and thermostats varies anywhere from $2 a square foot to fifteen dollars a square foot and that may not include work. The radiant floor heating cost is based on on the type of heating system incorporated; there are two methods, electric radiant or liquid radiant. The fluid or liquid radiant heated floor cost may be more because of the work involved. The mat system heated floor cost most of the time is the most most feasible and the liquid system can be the most costly, because of the work involved. All of these radiant method do the work, but floor heating cost does vary figured on the size of the home and where the system will be incorporated in the home.

The important question with existing homes is how much additional money it will take to take away the existing floor and install the tubing or the mat system. A liquid flooring system can be installed above the subfloor, so there is no need to go below the subfloor unless a PEX tubing system is employed, which is adhered to the subfloor or the tubing is hanging from the subfloor. The below floor system needs to be at a higher increased temperature to equal the performance of an above floor system. Decisions like these do make a difference in the complete floor heating cost, so it is a great idea to do all the studying before the job is started.

It can truly add an extra element to the overall look and feel of your home; it is clear that ceramic tile is quickly emerging as one of the most popular methods for people looking for ways to personalize their interior design.

One of the few disappointments people usually seem to have in regards to ceramic tile has little to do with how it looks, and everything to do with how its comfort. The problem with it is that it can be very cold. Slippers might be nice ways to keep cozy on cold winter mornings, but you may not constantly want to have to slip them on. When you are lingering around your home, the ability to walk around it without worrying about your feet turning into blocks of ice is important.

A lot of people reasonably do not want to conceal the gorgeous ceramic tile in their bathroom or kitchen since the whole point of this material is enhancing quality to the decor of your home. As it happens, there is a very pragmatic and pleasing alternative: ceramic tile heating. Underfloor heating solutions are surprisingly inexpensive and efficient, allowing you to enjoy the splendor of your ceramic tile while not having to cope with the unpleasantness of cold feet.

When you utilize this sort of heating system to work below your ceramic tile, you can happily avoid any annoying noises as it goes to work.

Furthermore, if you or someone in your family suffers from allergies, radiant ceramic tile heating is a great way to go. Because it does not utilize forcing air throghout the house and its vents and ducts, radiant heating does not aggravate the many air toxins which can cause allergies and other respiratory sicknesses to flare up. While enjoying warm feet and head to toe pleasant sensations, your familys overall health is also reaping the advantages of radiant heating.

Ceramic tile is not only nice to look at, but when joined with radiant floor heating it can really augment the overall environment of your home.

Anyone who has experienced a house with heated floors is well aware that it adds an amazing boost to the overall comfort and coziness of that house. The majority of homeowners choose not to go the entire way and warm the entire floor of the home and look for the best areas for floor heating. Following are the best 3 areas of the house that are musts for floor heating.

1) Bathrooms This room is almost a no brainer. Anyone who has stepped into a cold bathroom early in the morning can attest to this one. Stepping out of a nice, toasty bath onto an icy floor is aware that such an experience can be just as bad. Because the floor coverings in bathrooms are almost never carpet, this is also a room that benefits greatly from a heated floor. Getting the day off to a positive start is important and freezing your feet after a bath is never the best way to do so.

2) Kitchens/Dining rooms This is a room that you can guarantee each member of the family will enjoy a toasty, cozy floor. After the quality of the food, the most important aspect of enjoying your food is your personal comfort. For most families, this translates to happier, more fulfilling meals that are a joy instead of a necessity. Homeowners who have floor heating installed in the kitchen/dining room area notice an immediate upturn in everyone`s state of mind during meals. This positive state of mind means everyone can enjoy both the meal and the presence of family members who love them.

3) Bedrooms with hardwood floors Hardwood flooring is beautiful. They are also very easy to keep clean and proof against things like spills and stains. For a bedroom however, hardwood floors do have one major disadvantage they tend to be a little colder than the surrounding temperature. On a hot summer afternoon this can be nice. On a chilly winter morning, it can be enough to make one dread the moment when it`s time to get out of bed.

Before heated floors, the only solution to this problem was to cover that beautiful, stain resistant hardwood with rugs (defeating the purpose of having hardwood flooring in the first place). Of all the rooms in a home, the bedroom is the room that above all must be cozy and comfortable. The bedroom is your haven from all of life`s issues. It is also the one area in any home that people are certain to be walking around bare footed. We all know that a house is more than simply a structure. It`s a home that tells our animal side that it is safe and comfortable. It is a place where we can let our guard down and forget the outside world. Installing floor heating in bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen/dining areas is a great way to set this tone for the entire house.

Is it possible to install a radiant heating system outdoors? The answer is yes! Installing radiant heating systems outdoors is not only possible but it is becoming quite trendy. Indeed, in colder areas, the installation of radiant heating systems on pathways, driveways and patios are a big convenience.

Exterior radiant heating systems are being used for heated driveways, exterior pathways and steps. In wintry temperatures where there is ice and snow, a radiant heating system is a fantastic alternative to scooping snow, chipping ice, or laying down salt or chemicals to thaw out ice and snow. Radiant heated pathways make available a walkway that is safer. The threat of slipping and injuring yourself at home, offices and public walkways, is more likely when the pathway is covered in ice or snow. The capacity to rapidly melt the ice or snow reduces possibility of injury to pedestrians. A heated driveway installed with a radiant heating system is a big convenience over shoveling snow, in the freezing cold, for hours.

Homes have been enhanced with radiant floor heating for years. Homeowners have come to love the warmth and comfort that radiant floor heating provides. Now, the idea of bringing radiant heating to driveways and walkways has become a trendy installation for many homeowners, professional offices and public places. The benefits of safety and convenience are clear to see.

Homes with patios are taking advantage of radiant heating also. Having a patio heater allows homeowners to enjoy the advantages of their patio all year. By installing a patio heater, the radiant heating system makes a patio a comfortable place to enjoy the outdoors in winter. Barbecues are no longer a summer exclusive event.

Of course, the best opportunity to install a radiant heating system is during new construction. However, a competent installer can retro fit the system to existing homes, driveways and walkways. The benefits of convenience and safety far outweigh the cost of installation.

The question is no longer “can you install a radiant heating system outdoors” but actually, “why haven`t you installed an outdoor radiant heating system yet?” It makes perfect sense benefit from this technology and apply it to your outdoor living spaces, walkways and driveways. If you live in a region where there is snow or ice, you know the feeling of loosing your footing, shoveling snow, and not being able to enjoy your outdoor rooms.

Also think about, the salt and chemicals you would normally use to melt the ice and snow. They are not only costly but cumbersome to lug from the store to home, and outside again when you need to use them. Also, it is important to note, when the salt and chemicals are tracked back into your home it just ruins your floors or carpeting sooner or later. If you have small children or pets, the salt and chemical packages usually have a warning: keep out of reach of children and pets! Do you want your children and pets exposed to something that could poison them or make them sick? Radiant heating is the solution to these concerns.

There are great advantages and benefits of installing outdoor radiant heating to walkways, driveways, and patios. If you have the chance to install or convert to radiant floor heating, a heated driveway or walkway, or a patio heater, you should seize the opportunity. You and your family will be grateful for years to come.

As with any important choice, those considering installing floor heating have numerous queries. One of these questions is: What is an electric heat mat and how does it melt snow? Basically, an electric floor mat is a heating element that can be installed under your floor covering (tile, hardwood, linoleum, etc…). A convenient analogy is an electric floor mat is that it`s an electric blanket under the flooring. As for how it melts ice, the answer consists of two explanations: How an electric floor mat works, and why it melts ice effectively. 1) How does an electric floor mat work? All electric heating devices work on the same principle; resistance. All conductive substances have a given level of resistance. This resistance creates friction as the electricity passes through the substance. This is why most electric cables are made of copper instead of aluminum, a less expensive and lighter metal. Copper has less resistance and permits the electrons to flow smoothly making it a more efficient choice. Taking advantage of resistance, we have learned to use different substances to take advantage of the friction caused when electricity is passed through them. The by product of this friction is warmth. From your toaster to electric floor mats, this principle is at work in any electric heating device. 2) How does an electric heat mat melt snow? When snow falls on an unheated floor, a small quantity of the ice is liquified. This melting conducts warmth from the flooring to the snow, resulting in a small quantity of water. The warmth transfer additionally results in the floor being chilled. Quickly, an equilibrium is achieved where the floor covering does not have enough warmth to continue melting snow. Having an electric floor mat changes this equation. Having an active heat mat under the floor covering, as warmth is transferred from your floor to snow and a small quantity of snow is liquified, but instead of attaining an equilibrium, warmth is then transferred from the electric floor mat to the flooring allowing the process to continue until the snow is completely melted. The result of this process is a continual melting of snow instead of a short process with a small quantity of melted snow. At this point, you might be asking how this affects your life. Have you ever noticed the condition of your carpet after a person wanders over it with snow on his or her feet? Snow gathers dirt as we walks around. As the snow falls off someone`s feet, it later melts. Add snow melt (water) to dirt, and you have mud. An electric floor mat mat installed in foyer areas can limit this melted snow to one easily cleaned part of the home, instead of allowing it get spread all over the home. For anyone living in a region where snow falls, an electric floor mat in foyer areas is a great choice.

Radiant heated driveway systems are admired in areas where snow is normal in the winter, and even the entire year. A radiant heated driveway is essentially a driveway that eliminates the need to shovel. This makes your driveway much safer in the winter, especially for those who need to go back and forth to work or go to school. Salts and chemicals are damaging to your lawn, and a radiant heated driveway can also eliminate the necessity to use those on your driveway. It is easy to mount a radiant heated driveway system, any contractor or electrician can do so. Even individuals familiar with specific objects can mount their own radiant driveway which will greatly help in ice melting and snow removal. Radiant heated driveways can be put in during new site erection, which is the absolute best time to mount one. Aside from that they can be put in easily in rocks, gravel, or asphalt driveways. An mounting technician will usually mount an electronic cable that identifies inclement weather and heats up accordingly. While it is easy to mount, it is almost compulsory that you repave your driveway for proper care and placement. Randomly placing a cable can break it and you risk losing a large amount of resources. The wire is then {{interconnected|connected|linked}}} to a sensor that will be located indoors or somewhere easily accessible. If you already have a paved driveway, then the easiest way to mount a radiant heated driveway is by slicing a gash in the asphalt. putting in a radiant heating system involves sizing your driveway, marking measurements, using a saw to cut through the asphalt if required, putting it in, and then wrapping up! All you need are some very base tools to cut the desired size needed, and anyone can perform it. There is really little else to do, besides figuring out the proper placement and your exact needs. Most cables for radiant driveway heating are approximately 1 inch thick and an inch or less wide. Each type varies based on where you buy it!
